Supervision and Reflective Spaces

Supervision

I offer regular supervision and one-off consultancy to trainee and qualified counsellors, arts therapists and psychotherapists, and to health, education and social care professionals. I also run supervision groups. In this work I seek to offer a containing, non-judgemental and creative space in which we can ‘imagine’ the people we work with, and grow together in shared confusion, insight and understanding.

Reflective Spaces

Sometimes our day-to-day work seems to get stuck, fragmented between agencies, confusing or out of control.

A reflective space is a set, protected time, usually an hour, in which everyone involved in supporting a specific person or a situation can share their thoughts in pursuit of a deeper understanding of the (often unseen) underlying human dynamics.

All thoughts and feelings are accepted non-judgmentally and confidentially, unless immediate safeguarding concerns arise.

My role as facilitator is to encourage an attitude of curiosity, to ensure everyone has a voice and is heard, to clarify perceptions, and to provide a fresh perspective.

In this free-thinking atmosphere, unexpected and creative ways forward are often found.
